I'm Your Kahora Coach

When I first faced my own gut health and reproductive challenges, I was left with more questions than answers. The discomfort, the cravings, the confusion about what to eat—it felt like a puzzle with missing pieces. I didn’t want to give up my love for food or settle for declining health. That’s when I decided to take control, dive into research, and connect with communities that shared my journey. Today, I’m Jazzmine Brooks, your Kahora Coach, here to share what I’ve learned and support you on your path to better health.

My Journey to Becoming Kahora Coach

I am a career certified doula, yoga instructor, health trainer, and mentor. My background is deeply rooted in personal experience and cultural richness. Being African American and Belizean has given me a unique perspective on food and wellness. Growing up and living across the West Coast, East, and Midwest exposed me to diverse cultural foods and traditions. This variety helped me understand how food connects us to our heritage and health.

Supporting families as a doula introduced me to many dietary restrictions and allergies. This experience pushed me to become resourceful and creative in the kitchen, finding ways to nourish without sacrificing flavor or enjoyment. Alongside this, I trained as an herbal practitioner under community midwives, learning the power of plants in healing and balance.

What Kahora Coaching Means to Me

Kahora Coaching is about more than just diet or exercise. It’s about nurturing your whole self—body, mind, and spirit. I focus on managing stress, improving gut health, and balancing hormones through natural, sustainable methods. My approach honors your love for food while helping you feel your best.

I believe health should never feel like a sacrifice. You don’t have to give up the foods you enjoy to feel good. Instead, I guide you to make choices that support your body’s needs and respect your cultural background and personal preferences.

The Fundamentals I’m Bringing to My Coaching

Starting in July 2026, I will begin my health coaching program with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition. This program emphasizes a holistic approach to health, covering:

  • Nutrition and dietary theories that go beyond one-size-fits-all diets

  • Mind-body connection and how stress impacts digestion and hormones

  • Lifestyle habits that support long-term wellness, including sleep and movement

  • Community and support systems as essential parts of healing

  • Personalized coaching techniques to meet each person where they are

These fundamentals align perfectly with my own experience and values. They will help me serve more communities, especially those often overlooked in mainstream health conversations.

Why Culture and Community Matter in Health

Food is more than fuel. It’s connection, tradition, and comfort. My African American and Belizean roots have taught me that honoring culture in what we eat can be healing in itself. Living in different parts of the country exposed me to many ways people nourish themselves, and I’ve learned to blend these influences into practical, delicious meals.

Supporting families with allergies and dietary restrictions as a doula showed me how important it is to be adaptable and creative. No two bodies are the same, and no single diet fits all. That’s why I focus on building a supportive community where we learn from each other and grow together.

Looking Ahead with Excitement

Starting my health coaching program with the Institute of Integrative Nutrition is a big step. I’m excited to deepen my knowledge and expand my ability to serve more people. This journey will allow me to bring even more tools and insights to my coaching, helping you manage stress, improve gut health, and balance hormones naturally.

I look forward to sharing this path with you and supporting your journey to a healthier, happier life—without giving up the foods you love.

If you’re ready to explore a new way of caring for your body and soul, I’m here to walk alongside you.
